NUTRIENTS FROM THE NATURE
Among the two well-known types of coconut, one is the The Sweet Young Nam Hom Coconut and the other is the Mature Coconut. The Nam Hom Coconut from Ratchaburi has a distinctive taste and its smell resembles pandan leaves. On the other hand, the ones from Samutsakorn which can be identified by 3 creases at the bottom are sweet and rich in potassium. The mineral-rich soil, water, and climate that are unique to these areas give Nam Hom Coconuts their distinct taste.
Mature coconuts grow well in river basin areas than lack of rainfall areas. The provinces in southern Thailand are suitable areas for growing mature coconuts. August through September is the peak harvesting season for these coconuts, which are only harvested every 45 to 60 days. The weather has a major impact on the growth of these crops.
